Dubuque senior transportation program celebrations 100,000th ride


The expression “taking a joyride” has a new meaning for an organization that provides transportation for seniors in the Dubuque area.

DuRide has been getting people age 65 and older from point A to point B around Dubuque, East Dubuque, Ill., and Asbury, Iowa, since 2008. And on Tuesday, organization volunteers offered their 100,000th ride.

DURIDE TO SPEAK AT NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION CONFERENCE




Dave Luber, Sande Peters and Kris Paulsen, members of the Charitable Giving Committee present a $5,000.00 Andersen Foundation Check to Greg Orwoll, Executive Director of DuRide.

The Andersen Corporate Foundation was established in 1941 with the mission “to improve lives and strengthen communities, primarily where Andersen employees live and work.” Since then, the foundation has donated more than $60 million to worthy causes.


Dubuque City Council issued a proclamation in honor of DuRide and our service to senior citizens in May 2019.

Schoen Family Foundation awards DuRide $2,000 for operating support. The Schoen Family Foundation board met recently and elected to contribute $2,000 to DuRide. This is the 4th consecutive year they have contributed, and have donated $7,500 in total!

DUBUQUE’S KWIK CARE PROGRAM FEATURES DURIDE IN MARCH PARTNERSHIP

Dubuque, IA – For the month of March, Kwik Stop, Dairy Queen, and Fazoli’s are partnering with DuRide with the mission of raising awareness and money for the organization. This is the duo’s second time working together. The Kwik Care philosophy began in 2002 with the simple idea of providing joy to 10 local families who needed assistance during that Christmas season.
